Often gay people are scared to talk to their friends about this. They think that they will not understand. After you tell the truth about yourself some people might not like you anymore. You should not worry though because your real friends will never leave you just because you are in a gay relationship.

You were the only one without a girlfriend. There for your friends are probably wondering if you are gay. It’s time to tell them. You will all feel a lot better. It takes a lot of courage to be honest but you have to do it. Your friendship will become a lot closer after you get out of the closet. They will understand that your relationship will make you happy. In the end that is the most important.

The news might come as a shock for some of them. Thus it’s better to let them think about it for a few days. Only your real friends will stick around after your coming out. This will be like a real friendship test. It’s important to stay calm and positive. Your new life is about to start!

In order to make sure that everyone is involved within the loop you should start a newsletter. This can be sent out at least once every month. The newsletter is designed to tell people what is going on within the gay community. It can be sent out through the mail or through a simple email.

Staying active in the gay community is only going to make you a stronger person. Take the time to get to know a few people and get yourself settled. Once you feel comfortable within the community you can start to find your voice. Remember, nothing is ever going to change if we are all silent. Find your voice within the gay community and make sure that you are heard by everyone that is willing to listen to you.  Be especially vigilant in helping others come out of the closet.
